Patmos
John was a disciple of Jesus who said of himself "the disciple whom Jesus loved." Years after the resurrection,
he survived extremely abusive attempts to destroy his life. Miraculously protected, he was finally exiled to the
Island of Patmos.
There, he was visited with very extreme visions about a time in the future, intersecting with visions
of impeding judgment and global destruction, the ascended Christ, pressing letters from the Savior to His
churches, scenes of heavenly realms and creatures, as well as hellish ones, the wildness of the sea of fire,
the madness of Armageddon, the heavenly city, the hope of the Bride, the feast, eternity, etc.
John could barely find words in his own language to precisely describe what he was seeing
and witnessing. And how could he reconcile this whole scene with the life and teachings of the compassionate
and redeeming Jesus he had once known both as a man, and as God?
This album explores this experience and contemplates the question: Where is God's love to be
found in the irreversible cosmic disintegration of Creation and a large section of the human race as we have known it?
Some of the pieces reflect the context of the revelations from John's (estimated...) point of view and invites
you to visit those places that defy description...
But mostly, it depicts the absolute resolve of God's desire for pure intimacy with us, as He unleashes cyclones of mercy over His earth,
and final judgment over the wickedness that rebellious and fallen angels have defiled humanity with.
This resolve is sharpened by the price God already paid to reconcile us with Himself, and
heightened by the new threshold the Church is poised to cross, as the "corporate" expression of the Bride.
One thing for sure: Our resolve resounds with the Fathe'rs. And so we ought to watch and pray.
Intimacy in glory and pure communion with God, without the restraints of shame or pain, that is the
destiny of mankind, and beyond...
"The Revelation of Jesus-Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take
place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word
of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are
those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."(Rev 1:1-3 NIV)
